In an effort to regain some of the market share they have lost dell has introduced a new line of laptops that come in several different colors and now are releasing a new line of computers to target the small business users. The new line will be called Vostro, which is Latin for “yours”. These new computers will come with either vista or windows xp and dell has promised not to install any type of trial software on the computers that expires after a few months. Dell will offer three laptops with screens ranging from 14 to 17 inches starting at $499 to $799 and the desktop version will start at $399. So far specifications aren’t available for this new line but I would think that they would try and keep them pretty simple without a lot of extras home users need like high end graphics or expensive sound cards. To make sure they have enough people to support this new line Dell has assembled around 6500 employees to handle tech support just for the Vostro line. For the first year users will be able to use a tune-up feature and online backup feature for free, but after that it will require a subscription to keep the service.
